Nigerian Teachers Task FG To Secure Schools Ahead Polls

Ahead of next month’s general elections, the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, has charged the Federal Government to urgently address the security challenges in the country in order to ensure free, fair and credible elections.
Making the statement at the weekend was NUT President, Comrade Michael Alogba Olukoya, during the union’s 2015 annual Solemn Assembly, organisedin Abuja.
The Daily Trust reports that the event was held to pray for the nation and for the release of over 200 schoolgirls abducted by the Boko Haram insurgents in Chibok, Borno State about eight months ago.

Cameroon: Boko Haram Captives Freed

No fewer than 20 captives out of the 80 people that were reportedly kidnapped by the Boko Haram sect members in Cameroon at the weekend have regained their freedom.
