Muna Obiekwe, who had been battling kidney failure, died about 4:30pm Sunday at an unnamed hospital in Festac, Lagos, after he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital.
Speaking with PREMIUM TIMES on phone, the president of the Actor Guild of Nigeria, Ibinabo Fiberesima, said the late Muna was a very private person which is responsible for the little information about his health status.
“Muna was a fanstatic person but he was just a very private person, that’s all I can say for now,” Ibinabo told our reporter.
Other colleagues took to their social media pages to wish the actor who would be remembered for his several roles eternal rest.
“Its not the length of life but the depth of life, RIP Muna” Uche jombo wrote on her Instagram page, while Mike Ezuruonye, his friend, said “So sad…Muna whyyyyyyy…Ohhh…whyyyyyy…RIP bro. Nollywood loses another…Whyyyy…”
“Goodnite, I pray you find peace with the Lord,” Seun Oloketuyi, publisher of Best Of Nollywood wrote.
Shortly after Muna’s death was made public, a certain @MunaObiekwe surfaced on Twitter, debunking the death reports. The account later apologised for his misleading and confusing tweets and promised to log out from the account.
