Nigerians React To PDP Begging Obasanjo


The political tension created in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to former president Olusegun Obasanjo’s dramatic exit from the party on Monday February 16, still lingers on.

The Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, who said he was in a closed door meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday, hinted that the party will go and beg the former president who wants to become just an ‘elder statesman’ to return and forgive whatever wrong doing the grand children may committed.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has reportedly accused the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the major opposition party the All Progressives Congress (APC) of overheating the polity.

Speaking on Wednesday at a press briefing in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, the South West chairman of APGA, Alhaji Tayo Sowunmi advised supporters of APC and PDP to stop heating the polity with their utterances.

PDP Youth, Norther Civil Society Campaign For Jonathan


 In its bid to mobilise Nigerian youths for the realization of the second term bid of President Goodluck Jonathan/Namadi Sambo, the Directorate of Youth Mobilisation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation on Wednesday, held an interactive session with Non-Government Organizations, NGOs and Civil Society Organisations based in the north in the historic city of Kaduna.
The event which was held at the Quarters House Hotel, Kaduna, was attended by at least 35 leaders of civil society organizations and major NGOs in northern Nigeria.
Among the dignitaries that graced the occasion were the National youth leader of the PDP, Rt. Hon Abdullahi Maibasira, Kaduna state PDP youth leader, Hon. Boniface Garba, the Senior Special Assistant to President Jonathan on Students’ and Youth Matters, Jude Imagwe and Safiya Ibrahim.
