Amodu: S’Eagles job tough


Head of the newly appointed consortium of coaches for the Super Eagles, Shaibu Amodu describes the task of winning the two remaining Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches as very tough.
Consequently, he has asked Nigerians to be moderate in their expectations of the team in the remaining qualifiers.

The Church must compliment the govt in development-Martins

Fayose dissolves Ekiti 35 LGs, LCDAs


Ekiti state Governor Ayodele Fayose has dissolved all the caretaker committees of the 16 local government areas and those of the 19 newly inaugurated Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state.
The governor, who made the announcement through a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, said all the caretaker chairmen of the councils should immediately hand over to the Director of Administration of their respective council.
Caretaker chairmen have been in control of the 16 constitutionally recognised councils since the former governor Kayode Fayemi came on board since October 16, 2010.
Caretaker committees were also appointed for the 19 LCDAs which were inaugurated shortly after the June 16 governorship election.

FG-Boko Haram truce: No comment for now–Shettima

Gov Kashim Shettima of Borno state has said dialogue remains the best approach in resolving the insurgency in the north ­eastern parts of the coun­try as he has always advo­cated but maintained that he cannot comment on the reported truce between the Federal Government and Boko Haram.
“No comment for now regarding the issue. The governor will make com­ments at an appropriate time,” Shettima said in his reaction yesterday through his media aide, Isa Gusau.
