Stakeholders, youths purchase form for Elechi to run for Senate

Stakeholders and youths in Ebonyi Central Sena­torial zone of Ebonyi state yesterday bought form for Gov­ernor Martin Elechi to contest the senatorial seat in 2015 general elections.
Speaking at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secretariat along Abakaliki-expressway, PDP Youth leader and President ,Ebonyi Youth Assembly, Comrade Chinedu Ogah enumer­ated some of the achieve­ments of the governor which made the youths appeal to him to contest the senato­rial seat of the central zone.

Ogah stated that the youths started consultation since last year and had gone to 126 churches across the senatorial zone to seek the intervention of God for the governor’s senatorial proj­ect.
He noted that he had bought motorcycles to every ward and four Siena buses to each local government area of the four council ar­eas of the senatorial zone for the governor’s campaign while a camping office had been rented for the election as well as 50, 000 copies of governor Elechi posters.
According to him, “we don’t want you to contribute any money for the campaign, we are going to foot the bill and work towards ensuring he wins the senatorial seat. We urged the governor to heed to voice of the masses. We will ensure he emerged as unopposed candidate.
Responding, Elechi ac­cepted to contest the senato­rial seat in 2015, saying that his people ambushed him by supplying him the form they bought for him to contest the senatorial position.
“I don’t have voice but I say yes, I will heed your call to run for the Central senato­rial seat. I’m humbled, it is a food for thought. I will say thank you one day and not now” he stated.
