FG-Boko Haram truce: No comment for now–Shettima

Gov Kashim Shettima of Borno state has said dialogue remains the best approach in resolving the insurgency in the north eastern parts of the country as he has always advocated but maintained that he cannot comment on the reported truce between the Federal Government and Boko Haram.
“No comment for now regarding the issue. The governor will make comments at an appropriate time,” Shettima said in his reaction yesterday through his media aide, Isa Gusau.

According to Gusau;” The governor believed in tripartite approach that involves dialogue for peaceful resolution, military and economic strategies in addressing the Boko Haram problems and he has been a strong advocate of this measure through his practical efforts, sustained public appeals at various fora, which was why he firmly supported the efforts initiated by the President, Goodluck Jonathan through the setting up of the Tanimu Turaki led committee on dialogue and peaceful resolution of security challenges.”
The governor remain committed to all genuine efforts that would bring the insurgency to an end since Borno, his state has been worse hit by the five years old killing and blood-letting.
