Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s Gubernatorial
candidate for the Rivers state elections Nyesom Wike has said that the
APC sent gunmen on his campaign train in Abua/Odual Local Government
Area of the state.
According to Dailypost, The gunmen had attacked the palace of the Abua Kingdom in an attempt to assassinate Wike and his entourage who went there to receive Royal blessings.

The King, King Kalo Obuge was about to give Wike his blessing when the gunmen attacked.
As the gunmen and security operatives assigned to Wike exchanged fire, one of the gunmen was shot down and killed.
Wike then said that the peace deal signed by the leaders of both parties recently has been breached by the APC in Rivers state.
He said, “APC has gone to higher boys to carry gun because they were here on the 13th of January, nobody came out. When they saw the mammoth crowd that came to welcome us, they became scared.
“They have gone to tell their boys to start shooting so they will intimidate themselves. We shall never be intimidated. They signed an agreement yesterday but today they have violated it.
“We shall never be provoked,” Wike said.
Rivers State APC and their candidate, Peterside Dakuku is yet to comment on this sad development.
