A Late Andre Ayew goal was enough to see Ghana through to the Quarter final of the AFCON 2015.
Ayew bravely headed home Baba Rahman’s left-wing cross in the 83rd minute to send the Black stars’ fans in ecstasy after his side had earlier looked like being eliminated.
Ghana had fallen to an early strike from Mandla Masango goal in the 17th minute but got an equalizer in the 73rd minute by defender, Boye and just when many thought this was going to be a draw, Ayew steps up to score the winner which sends his team to the Quarter Final of the tournament.
In the other game, Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez and Tottenham’s Bentaleb
scored in both half to give Algeria a 2-0 win over Senegal and a place
in the Quarter final.
Ghana and Algeria finished on 6 points but Ghana tops the group with a better head-to-head performance.
Meanwhile, the hosts of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will be announced on April 8 in Cairo, Egypt.
