“We are witnessing a downturn in the economy now because the
leadership has failed in its responsibility to deliver factors that
will encourage entrepreneurship. If leadership is not okay, followership
will be wrong and as they say in the military parlance there is no bad
soldier but bad officers so the leadership must work to ensure the
economy is well managed, that there is social cohesion, that the
expectations of the youths and business leaders are met while also
pursuing vigorously policies, laws and regulations that ensure
sustenance of any investment in the economy,” Obasanjo said. Speaking also at the event, Chairman of EON, Mr. Lere Baale, stated
that entrepreneurs is the only way to transform the economy, and called
on the Federal Government to give more support to them.
Meanwhile, the former president has been under various attacks following his newly published book, ‘My Watch’.
It would be recalled that the Chairman, Organisation and mobilisation committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in South West, Prince Buruji Kashamu, has presented a book to counter Obasanjo’s autobiography, ‘My watch’, which criticized President Goodluck Jonathan.
Also, Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka recently retaliated back with words concerning what Obasanjo said about him in his latest book,’My Watch’.
