Good news for President Jonathan and his campaign
team as he has now been endorsed by two groups who also endorsed the
governorship ambition of Ifeanyi Okowa and his deputy, Kingsley Otuaro,
in Delta State.
Daily Independent reports that the Urhobo Youth Awareness and
Concerned Urhobo in North America, have thrown their weight behind the
presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), President
Goodluck Jonathan.
The groups’ national coordinator, Kenneth Uvwo, who resides in Toronto, Canada, said that the groups decided to throw their weight behind the candidature of Okowa after analysing the qualifications of the candidates of all political parties.
Uvwo, who described Okowa as a tested and reliable politician that the state needed to transform, stated that Okowa’s election would experience overwhelming victory at the poll.
According to the groups, ”Okowa is one dependable politician that will certainly deliver his campaign promises if voted into office as governor of Delta state. So we enjoin all Urhobo sons and daughters to vote him massively.
“Delta State needs a capable hand to pilot and govern a complex state like Delta and we have no doubt that our people will not regret if they vote massively for both President Goodluck Jonathan and Okowa, as they are the best choice for Urhobo, Delta and the nation as a whole.”
Oba Rilwan Babatunde Osuolale Aremu Akiolu 1st of Lagos, also known as the Eleko of Eko said he has not endorsed Jonathan or Gen. Buhari ahead of the elections scheduled for March 28.
