Less than two weeks after visiting Maiduguri, the
Borno State capital, President Goodluck Jonathan will visit the state
again today to campaign for next month’s election.
It would be recalled Jonathan’s visit to Maiduguri on January 15, 2015, was to show support for Nigerian soldiers serving in the state in commemoration with the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
The President had been criticised in recent times for not visiting the Boko Haram insurgency-ridden state.
According to Punch newspaper report online, the President would use the opportunity of the visit to unfold plans to tackle the Boko Haram militant sect.
