The Abuja peace accord


It was a great relief for millions of apprehensive Nigerians watching President Goodluck Jonathan and the presidential candidate of the leading opposition party, Major-Gen­eral Muhammadu Buhari, hugging on television last week. Both men were seen in a warm embrace with hearty smiles after signing what is now known as the ‘Abuja Accord,’ which commits them and their political par­ties to peaceful electioneering cam­paigns, peaceful polls and effective management of the outcome of the 2015 elections to ensure that there is no outbreak of violence.

Siasia names 21 for Tunisia, 36 for Super 4


Nigeria U23 coach Samson Siasia has named two squads for a series of test matches in Tunisia as well as the Super 4, which begins on Satur­day in Abuja.Siasia will handle the team to Tunisia, while as­sistant coach Fatai Amoo would be in charge of the team for the Super 4.

Police Officers In Detention Over N150,000 Bribe

Five policemen have been arrested for allegedly taking a bribe of N150,000 from a suspected fraudster.

The police officers attached to the Anti-Robbery Squad of the Area M Police Command repoertedly had arrested the complainant, identified only as Ifeanyi, for allegedly engaging in internet fraud.
He was said to have been led to the nearest ATM to make a withdrawal so as to be free of the accusation.
