Gyan did some light shake up with the team on Tuesday at a session which was closed to the media and the public.
The 29-year-old was expected to return to full-scale training with the side today ahead of the game against Algeria.
Ghana is desperate for a win following its opening group defeat to Senegal to resurrect their campaign in Equatorial Guinea.
The Black Stars face an early exit if the team is unable to secure the desired result against the tournament favourites on Friday.
