A top politician in Ibadan, Mrs Risikat Bola Amole has reportedly passed away, few months after declaring her intention to run for a seat in the Federal House of Representatives for the Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency of Oyo State under the umbrella of the Accord Party.

1,650 PDP Members Defect To APC In Edo


Just a month to the February 14 presidential elections, the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reportedly suffered mass defection.
The Nation reports that, over 1,650 PDP members in Uhunmwode Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defectors, who were led by Justin Omoruyi, were received by the Edo Sate Deputy Governor Pius Egberanmwen Odubu.

Fashola Promises To Support Balogun Market Traders

Lagos state governor, Babatunde Fashola, has promised to restore the damaged buildings at the Balogun market in Lagos Island and help traders get back to their business.
The traders lost their wares in the fire disaster that razed four buildings at the Balogun market on January 12, 2015, Monday.

According to The Nation, the state governor was at the scene on Tuesday to size up the situation.
Fashola described the incident as very sad and tragic. Addressing thousands of traders, he said that government would stand by them and help to get back to their businesses.
He called on market leaders to help government identify those whose wares were burnt in the fire disaster.

Reps To Probe APC’s Alleged Hacking Of INEC Database

The House of Representatives have resolved to probe recent allegations made by the Department of State Services, DSS, that the All Progressives Congress, APC tried to hack into the data base of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
