A fake Twitter profile of President Goodluck Jonathan
has caused confusion among Nigerians on who has the largest followers on
the social media platform between Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, a presidential
candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and President Jonathan
of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Both Buhari, who was a former Head of State, and incumbent President Jonathan are the two major candidates to contest for the 2015 presidential elections in Nigeria.
Only today, 27 December, 2014, Saharareporters.com released a story with the headline ‘Just 4 Days: Buhari’s Twitter Followers Already Over Half Of Jonathan’s Twitter Account Created 4 Years Ago’.

But upon investigation, it was revealed that the Twitter profile in
question, @JGoodlucktweets, though pro-Jonathan, is not the Twitter
profile of the President neither is it listed on any of the President’s
official platforms.
