In this interview with Vanguard’s Damilola Sholola, Pascaline Alex gives us a few glimpses into how her career is developing today. This year, she’s been featured in over ten movies – the names of some she can’t even recall.
Her latest project sees her playing a security agent who is now confined to a wheelchair after an accident.

The actress counts such movies as College Girls, Secondary School Girls, Educated Housemaids, and Bleeding Tree as her most successful ones. She adds that her portrayal of a lesbian character in a Ghanian movie College Girls was so believable many people still think the actress is gay (which she is not). Moreover, during the filming of her sensual lesbian scenes, everyone on set was impressed by her acting.
Pascaline Alex names Majid Michel as the actor who inspires her. She names him the African Al Pacino. She also expresses her admiration for Mike Ezuruonye.
Nigerian actors, Pascaline Alex says, are limited in expressing themselves before the cameras because Nigerians like to criticize and condemn, making their jobs tougher.
“So many stars have been affected badly by this culture thing. Some wouldn’t even go on set to kiss, giving all sorts of reasons. People must understand that this is a make-believe job where you have to get into all sorts of characters to deliver a role and make people truly enjoy the movie and believe it’s real.”
