Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola addressed youths at a summit organised by the Youth Wing of the (APC) in Lagos yesterday Nov. 11. Speaking on the theme of the summit, “A New Nigeria by New Nigerians", he said that after years of Pres. Jonathan leading Abuja, first as an acting president and later his four-year presidential tenure, the Federal Capital still has challenges of irregular power supply, water shortage, poor accommodation, poor transportation, poor traffic management&security.

EFCC prosecuting 441 oil theft cases

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) last week revealed that it is presently prosecuting 441 individuals for allegedly vandalising oil pipelines and stealing crude oil.
In addition, the commission is still busy with the prosecution of suspected oil subsidy thieves with over 40 persons and organisations currently in court answering to charges.

Africa Cup of Nations: Morocco will not host finals over Ebola fears

Morocco will not host the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations because of its fears over the Ebola outbreak elsewhere on the continent, the Confederation of African Football (Caf) has confirmed.
However Caf did not announce a new venue for the tournament, due to take place from 17 January to 8 February. It said it had had “some applications of national associations confirming their desire to host the competition”.
