Makoko floating school collapses after heavy rainfall

After the heavy rainstorm on Tuesday, the floating school which is situated in Makoko, Yaba area of Lagos, collapsed. The weak structure which had survived several storms before, finally caved in yesterday. There were no casualties as the students had reportedly been relocated to a main school building before this incident. Plans to construct a new structure in the Waterfront community are already in place.
