PDP Indicts Fashola In Oba’s Threat To Igbos

PDP Indicts Fashola In Oba’s Threat To Igbos
Governor Babatunde Fashola.
The Trent on Wednesday reported that the PDP accused Governor Fashola of supporting the Oba of Lagos on the threat to Igbos living in the state.

The Oba directed Igbos to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode in Saturday’s poll or risk death in seven days.
The accusation was contained in a statement issued by the party’s state’s Publicity Secretary, Taofik Gani, who called on Governor Fashola to suspend Oba Akiolu following the threat.
He revealed that the party had already directed security agents to hold the traditional ruler responsible if any evil should befall the Igbos or PDP supporters in the state.

“The 48-hour silence of Governor Fashola since the Oba of Lagos made death threats to Igbos indicates that not only is Fashola in agreement with what the Oba said, but that the Oba spoke on behalf of the state government. The governor is thus a conspirator in this threat to life and must also be held accountable for any violence in these elections. We have at this point been vindicated about the desperation of the APC to retain Lagos state at all costs including the All Progressives Congress’ plan not to concede the imminent defeat on April 11.The positions of the PDP are coming on the heels of the now viral threat issued by the Oba of Lagos to Igbos that they must vote for the APC Governorship Candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode, or be drowned in Lagos water,” he said.
The comment of the Oba which has generated a lot of negative reactions from groups and well meaning Nigerians.
The youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Oba  Akiolu to “retract and unconditionally apologise to Ndigbo” over the alleged death threats he issued to them.
Oba Akinolu in a reaction has, however, released a statement distancing himself from alleged threats to harm Igbos in Lagos.
