It is no longer news that some Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) governors have not been campaigning forcefully for the
re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan as Kano State Governor, Rabiu
Musa Kwankwaso had earlier pointed out.
Almost
synchronising the assertion of Kano state governor, a chieftain of the
ruling PDP has now revealed to Nigerians who to blame if President
Jonathan should lose the March 28 presidential election.
The party chieftain, Chief Edet Nkpubre made the revelation on Tuesday barely ten days to the presidential poll while speaking in an interview with Daily Independent correspondent.
Nkpubre, who is a former South-South National Vice Chairman of the PDP, and a consistent crusader for the governorship of Akwa Ibom state to shift to Oro Nation on the principle of the tripod, revealed that PDP governors should be blamed if Jonathan loses the 2015 presidential election.
He said although he remains a loyal member of the PDP, the party, however, should be prepared for protest votes against its candidate from Akwa Ibom people because the governorship primary in the state was manipulated, corrupted and the candidate Udom Emmanuel was imposed on the people.
The party chieftain revealed that a protest letter had been written and signed by ex-governor Victor Attah, Etiebet and his humble self to PDP national headquarters in Abuja, alerting them of the political fraud that was committed.
He said the aforementioned grievance was accompanied by the protest by the 22 aspirants, other than Udom, who stayed 40 days and 40 nights in Abuja to make his case known to Mr. President.
Nkpubre, however, described as unfortunate that these issues have remained unresolved, insisting that the primary that brought Udom as the governorship candidate was fraudulently manipulated.
He said the state Governor, Godswill Akpabio and his wife identified Udom somewhere and imposed him on the faithful party supporters undemocratically.
