Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu, announced that he had
forgiven the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress
(APC), Muhammadu Buhari, for truncating his political ambitions.

The governor made his statement at PDP’s campaign rally in Minna, the Niger State capital, Punch reports.
According to Aliyu, his political career in 1983 was truncated by Buhari, who became the head of state following the December 31, 1983 coup.
Commenting on various rumors that he has sympathy for the APC presidential candidate, Aliyu said:
“Some people are saying some of us have sympathy for Buhari; I personally, my political ambition was truncated by Buhari in 1983, my people elected me into the House of Representatives, I was annoyed but I have forgiven him. It gives me a lot of opportunity to further my study.”
According to the governor, Muhammadu Buhari may have “personal qualities” and may be honest but, unfortunately, he doesn’t translate these qualities into his public policies.
Aliyu took the opportunity to assure the people that he would not leave the PDP and support someone from another party.
“I am a PDP man, I believe in loyalty, if I have left PDP, I would have resigned my mandate as a governor because that mandate is in PDP. If anyone says the PDP is bad, he should leave all the property and all they got while they were in the party. They cannot because they know they will lose everything. We must bring the values of honesty back.”
Babangida Aliyu is one of those who strongly believes that the call for change is unnecessary. Therefore, he always calls on Nigerians to give President Goodluck Jonathan a second chance as he still has a lot to do for the country.
