The postponement of the Feb. 14 elections has nothing
to do with the abduction of the more 200 Chibok girls on April, 14 2014
according to the chairman of Chibok Community in Abuja, Mr Tsambido
Hosea-Abana.
Hosea-Abana who was reported by Leadership to have stated this during
the normal sit-out of the #BringBackOurGirls(BBOG) group yesterday. The
chairman was disappointed that the issue of girls were connected to
politics adding that they were separate issues which should be treated
separately.
“They are driving in the issue of the Chibok girls to the political scene which is very bad.
They should treat them separately. We are aggrieved when the girls’ issue are treated together with issues of the Chibok girls. If the girls are not rescued, will they shift the election again?
“The postponement has nothing to do with the Chibok girls. They are not connected at all. It is the matter of politics. Whether the election is postponed of not, all we want is for the Chibok girls to be brought back. The Chibok girls themselves will be asking what concerns them with the election. What they want is just to be reunited with their families.
“Let the government separate the issue of politics to the life of the Chibok girls.they should pursue the lives of the girls rigorously without connecting it to politics,” Hosea-Abana was quoted as saying by Leadership.
Hosea-Abana stated that even after 300 days, the parents of the abducted Chibok girls and the Chibok community were still hopeful that the girls will return soon to their families as effort were reportedly made to over powered the insurgency.
“After 300 days, we still have hope that the girls will be rescued. We still have hope. We have not heard that the girls have been killed. We only heard that they have been married off to the Boko Haram members. As far as they are not dead, we are hopeful that they will be out when the Boko Haram have been over powered,” he said.
Recently the youngest Nobel peace laureate Malala Yousafzai February 8 called for global support regarding the rescue of the still missing 200 Chibok school girls.
