According to a military source who confided to Sahara reporters, Sambo came to the occasion late shortly before closing prayers.

A visibly upset crowd began chanting ‘we don’t want you, we don’t want you’ upon sighting Mr. Sambo arriving the venue.
The angry crowd didn’t stop at that and proceeded to chant some angry words against President Goodluck Jonathan and his administration.

The organizers plead for the crowd to stop and leave the venue but their plea fell to closed ears and the crowd continued with their protest in the open field.
The vice president then went into the palace before the crowd finally took cue and disappeared.
Due to Sambo’s late arrival, Kaduna state governor, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero spoke on his behalf and announced the elease of financial compensation for victims of post-election violence in 2011.
