Describing his campaign as a payback time for the President, Fayose said the victory he recorded during the June 21 governorship election could be ascribed largely to the robust support he got from the Presidency.
Fayose made the statement in Emure Ekiti while flagging off the campaign for the Peoples Democratic Party’s House of Assembly and National Assembly candidates in Ekiti South Senatorial District, comprising Gbonyin, Emure and Ekiti East local government areas.
The governor, who spoke at the palace of Elemure of Emure Ekiti, Oba Emmanuel Adebayo, described Jonathan as a humble personality, who does not allow the aura of office to go into his head.
He reminded the electorate that the country would once again slide into dictatorship if General Muhammadu Buhari is allowed to win the presidential election.
Speaking against the backdrop of the tensed atmosphere occasioned by his position and support for Jonathan, Fayose promised that his government would equip the security agencies, particularly the Nigeria Army and Police to be able to tame any unwholesome situation.
