Egwuekwe eyes Europe

Super Eagles defender, Azubuike Egwuekwe has confirmed to sl10.ng that he is eager to secure a move away from the Nigeria Professional Football League,
with the January transfer window currently open. The 6”4” defender currently plays for Warri Wolves and had been a regular in the Super Eagles team over the last three years, and had represented Nigeria at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, and the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
And with reports linking him with moves away, the defender said he believed this is the right time for him to move.
“I think this is the right time for me to move abroad, because I have received so many offers. I really don’t know how it will turn out but I just hope it works out for me this time.
“There have been offers in the past but for one reason or the other, they haven’t materialized but I hope this is the time for me, I hope this is the time for the offers to bear fruit,” he said.
The 25-year old had recently been linked with English Premier League side, West Ham United and Greek side, Panathinaikos, but none of those clubs were yet to make a concrete offer for him.
He is presently on national assignment with a second string Super Eagles team in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
