Mandator’s Victor Essiet rallies Wiliki, Kimono, Majek for reggae fiesta

After a long sojourn in the United States of America, Victor Essiet of The Mandators fame has returned with a reggae festival tagged, ‘Africa Meets Reggae’, which will hold on Saturday November 29 at the Hockey Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

According to the reggae star, the festival, which was founded by Tom Chestin of Ecoplex Music, is domiciled in America but he now possesses the franchise. “The festival is held yearly in different countries across Europe, Americas, Caribbean, Australua, and New Zealand but it has never been held in Africa,” he explained.
Essiet said the all night show will feature top reggae stars like Orits Wiliki, Ras Kimono, Majek Fashek, Janelia McNair (USA), Wadada, Righteousman, St. Peters & Experience Band, Black Rice, Amos Mcroy, Charly Boy, Sound Sultan, Yemi Benson, Mayor, Brigadier Brown Bread, and Rymzo among others.
Ben TV’s Lanre Ijaola, an official partner of the event, added that the festival would be broadcast live to Europe and other parts of the world.
“The festival which is one of its kind will feature the past, present and future reggae artistes. It will also be a platform for social and cultural exchange between Nigerian artistes and her foreign counterparts,” Essiet concluded.
