A federal lawmaker, Hon. Benjamin Aboho has called on
the Nigerian military to brief the House of Representatives on the true
identity of the leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau.
This comes on the heels of President Goodluck Jonathan’s declaration that Shekau will be captured before the presidential elections scheduled for March 28.
According to Aboho, representing Kwande and Ushongo, Benue state at the Federal House of Reps, this contradicted an earlier claim by Nigeria’s military that Shekau had been killed during a shootout.
Addressing lawmakers yesterday, he said there has been no official
retraction of the earlier claim by the military, therefore it was
necessary for the house to be briefed on Shekau’s true identity.
