See Baby Girl Born With Elephant Nose

A baby girl born with an “elephant trunk” is being worshipped as a Hindu god in a village in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, in northern India.

Locals believe that this baby girl is the reincarnation of Ganesha

The girl, who has not yet been named, was born to Rambabu Sarvesh and his wife Banna Devi on Thursday. Since then thousands of onlookers from all over the country flocked to a small village to see the new-born infant. The locals believe that the baby girl is an incarnation of the Hindu deity Ganesha, who also has a trunk.

The news that there is a ‘divine’ child in the village has spread, bringing many visitors

According to the girl’s aunt, crowds of worshippers had since arrived to make offerings to the divine child. She said: “My sister-in-law gave birth to a girl at 7:00 a.m. and her face looks exactly like Lord Ganesha. This is why whoever hears about her is coming here to get a glimpse of the baby and are making whatever offerings possible.”

The girl. who is the fourth child in the family, has facial lump between her eyes that divided her nose in two when the girl was still in the womb. Doctors will examine the baby girl to find out the extent of her condition and whether they need to operate. Now they suggest that deformity was most likely due to a gene mutation, as a result of malnutrition and increased pollution.

The girl comes from a poor family with her father hoping his daughter’s birth will bring the family better luck

Mr Sarvesh, who is already a father to three children, earns 250 rupee (N750) a day, and hopes that his daughter’s birth will change the family’s fortunes.  Several months ago a baby boy who was born with four arms and four legs was aslo hailed as “God’s baby” due to his resemblance to Hindu god Brahma.
