Only Dolphin can explain Sarpsborg deal –Eduok

Super Eagles forward, Emem Eduok, has said his club, Dolphin, can explain in clear terms the deal he purportedly agreed with Sarpsborg FC, the Norwegian club which is claiming to have a contract with him.

The 2013/2014 Dolphin top scorer has been in the middle of a transfer debacle in recent days as he had reportedly signed for Tunisia’s Esperance from Dolphin before the Sporting Director of Sarpsborg, Thomas Bernsten, said the club signed him from A&B Academy on a four-year-deal.
But the forward, who scored 23 goals for Dolphin in all competitions last season, told our correspondent on Monday that although he contacted the club, he did not sign a contract with Sarpsborg since they didn’t meet the conditions set by his club.
The former Flying Eagles forward said, “It is only Dolphin that can explain everything about this contract issue.
“I signed for Esperance in Tunisia and did not sign for Sarpsborg. Although I was in contact with some clubs before Esperance came, they couldn’t meet Dolphin’s terms.
“I don’t know about the contract that Bernsten is talking about because I didn’t play for any A&B Academy. I was a Dolphin player till I signed for Esperance.”
But Dolphin media officer, China Acheru, had posted on his twitter page that the player was theirs and not that of A&B Academy.
He wrote, “Emem played for Akwa Starlets, then Akwa United and then Dolphin. Who the heck are A&B Academy?”
Meanwhile, Esperance have announced on their official website that Eduok would be unveiled after his engagement with the Eagles.
The player will take part in the friendly matches against Cote d’Ivoire and Sudan in Abu Dhabi later in January.
The statement on their website on Saturday read, “Last Wednesday we announced the transfer of the Nigerian Samuel Eduok was prone to complications related to a third party.
“Things are now officially back to normal, following the signing by the player a contract in favour of our club and he will be available to the team after his international commitments with the Nigerian national team.”
