The World Health Organisation (WHO) has revealed the
latest number of casualties from the deadly Ebola virus that has ravaged
West Africa over the past 10 months.
According to the WHO, the official count totals at least 7905.The WHO also stated that a total of
20 206 confirmed, probable, and suspected cases of Ebola virus disease (EVD) have been reported in four affected countries (Guinea, Liberia, Mali and Sierra Leone) and four previously affected
countries (Nigeria, Senegal, Spain and the United States of America) in the seven days leading to 28 December.
WHO also claim the organisation is trying to providing the capacity to treat patients with EVD in facilities that allow them to be isolated from other patients and the community is central to the EVD response.
At present, most of this capacity is concentrated in Ebola Treatment Centres (ETCs), large facilities range from 20 to 200 bed
