MTN & Nigerian ICT Firm launches a revolutionary social mobile learning product

MTN Nigeria has just partnered with Bilyak Consulting an indigenous ICT
firm to launch a mobile learningplatform that provides educational contents for all ages and professions.
Over 300 training courses and the platform is endorsed by Open University, such as
UK; WAEC, JAMB, UBEC and more, additionally training for ICT, banking and other professions.

The introduction of MTN mAcademy (www.mtnmacademy.com) might not just be a value added advantage to MTN but might end up changing the whole way Educative information is transmitted.

...and also bridge the educational divide by providing affordable,
at the moment the platform is available to Nigerian and Cameroon market and from our researc,
h we understand it will be going live in South Africa next month. What it looks like with features,
such as meeting and connecting with other learners, asking an expert and learning
this will be social learning for Africa. Now the question is
"will this be the ‘killer’ platform that will take Nigerians and Cameroonians away from facebook?

MTN mAcademy could be a simple solution to the National ‘headache’ of the Education sector, coming from the angle of the mass failure of Nigerian students at the recent WAEC exams. What mAcademy has achieved here is to provide opportunity for learning even while you are stuck with your mobile devices. Its knowledge on the move and interestingly, it’s free for the Secondary School Pupils and their Teachers. One can only imagine the magnanimity of the value added, when considering the JAMB, WAEC, NECO and NABTEB revision notes and practice exams made available for the Secondary school students.

On MTNs partners facebook page www.facebook.com/bilyak we can see they are offering an educational grant competition (prize money range from N20,000 to N300,000) for learners that pass some test on the platform.
