CAN Finally Reacts To Alleged 7 Billion Bribe

In what might appear to be a belated reaction to the allegation by a Borno-based Pastor, Kallamu Musa-Dikwa, who on Thursday revealed that the money given to pastors by President Goodluck Jonathan was actually N7 billion and not N6 billion as initially alleged by the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has respond.

Bloody Day In Bauchi As People Die In Gun Fight

The Bauchi State Police Command has revealed there were casualties from the gun fight that ensued between unknown gunmen and security operatives in the state.

The command spokesman, DSP Haruna Mohammed, on Thursday, said a gun battle between the joint police/vigilante patrol team and gunmen along Bayanga-Dogonruwa feeder road in the state left a vigilante member of the troop and one of the gunmen dead, Daily Independent reports.

Minister Weeps At The Scene Of Boko Haram Attack

The minister of youth development and former governor of Adamawa state, Boni Haruna, broke down yesterday after seeing the widespread destruction done to some villages by Boko Haram in Adamawa state.

The minister was part of a federal government delegation sent to carry out first hand inspection of areas that have been recaptured from Boko Haram in the northeast, with a view to rehabilitating the area and the villagers who are already returning to their villages.

The deceased, Olatunde Filani was said to have died after a brief illness. Kemi Filani reports that the deceased who was born in 1946, recently retired as a lecturer from the College of Education, Ikere Ekiti. The retired lecturer who worked for several years was a native of Ikole Ekiti and was said to have been instrumental in the training of several students who are today doing well either in the teaching profession or in other areas of human endeavor.

The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal has just reserved its decision concerning the President Goodluck Jonathan’s eligibility to contest presidential election in March.

The others Court’ panel members, who heard the appeal, were Akomolafe Wilson, T.Y. Hassan, J. E. Ekannem, and M. Mustapha, reported sunnewsonline.com.
