Boko Haram Launched An Attack On Niger, Kill One

According to the AFP, the raid was the third on the Niger border town of Diffa in four days and comes as Niger parliament is due to vote on whether to join a regional offensive against the insurgents.

Morocco have been banned from the next two African Nations Cup tournaments as punishment for withdrawing from hosting the 2015 event over fears of the spread of the Ebola virus.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has also been fined $1m and ordered to pay $9.12m in damages to the Confederation of African Football and their partners, CAF said in a statement.

Boko Haram is flush with cash and weapons after a string of battlefield advances, but the fighting group could face a tougher fight with Nigeria's neighbours, US intelligence officials have said.
In an assessment of the group, whose five-year uprising has included massacres and kidnappings and spread from Nigeria into neighboring states, the officials said they did not believe it posed a major threat to Nigeria's oilfields in the south.
