AIT Online Poll: Buhari Wins Over Jonathan
The Africa Independent Television network yesterday
on the official website conducted an independent poll ahead of the
February 14th presidential elections in Nigeria.

CBN To Suspend Forex Banks
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) yesterday pledged
to support the productive sectors of the economy in its resolve to
diversify and expand the economy, and threatened to suspend banks that
help in fueling speculative demands for foreign exchange (forex).

Armed Robbery Scare Hits Ijebu-Ode As Banks Shut
Reports just coming in from Ogun State say that the
fear of armed robbery attacks has gripped commercial banks in Ijebu Ode,
Ago Iwoye and other surrounding towns.
According to a report published by PM NEWS, commercial banks in Ijebu Igbo and Ago Iwoye, the university town in Ogun state, were shut for the second day on Tuesday over fears of robbery attacks.
It was disclosed that banks in these areas refused to open because the armoured personnel carrier (APC), that the police use to give them protection from bandits was not deployed in the area.
However, it is understood that the APC donated by Governor Ibikunle Amosun to the Nigerian police was not functional.
According to the report, banks within the Ijebu axis were not operating due to security concerns before the advent of the administration of Governor Amosun.

Activists Sue Buhari Over Alleged Perjury
Four activists have filed a criminal suit against the
presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General
Muhammadu Buhari, with an Abuja Magistrates’ Court over false
information.
The activists are Shield Jones Ufot, Jimmy David, Ogueri Enwerem and Tochukwu Okorie.
The activists filed a direct criminal complaint through their lawyer, Ugochukwu Ezekiel, at the court.
The complainants named Buhari as the only defendant in the suit.
