Five cops held for taking N150,000 bribe


five policemen attached to the Anti-Robbery Squad of the Area M Police Command have been put in detention for allegedly taking a bribe of N150, 000 from a suspected fraudster.
It was gathered that the police officers had arrested the complainant, identified simply as Ifeanyi, for allegedly engaging in internet fraud.

A car bomb has exploded in the Somali capital outside the gates of a hotel where Turkish delegates were preparing for the visit of their president.

DR Congo senate delays vote amid anti-Kabila protests

The Democratic Republic of Congo senate has delayed a vote on a national census which has sparked violent protests because it would delay elections.
Clashes continued on Thursday in the eastern city of Goma, with police reportedly firing live ammunition.
Human rights organisations say dozens have been killed, although this is disputed by the government.
Protesters say the plan is a move to ensure President Joseph Kabila extends his time in office.
The BBC's Maud Jullien in the capital, Kinshasa, says mobile internet and text services have been cut although fixed-line internet connections have been restored.

So much has been said about President Goodluck Jonathan chances in the upcoming elections. But on a lighter note, the PDP rally in Akwa Ibom sparked up some great moments.
One key moment from the rally was when fast rising singer and comedian MC Galaxy pulled a big shocker in front of the mammoth crowd.
The ‘’Sekem’’ singer, who was one of the showbiz stars that performed at the PDP Akwa-Ibom rally, made a dramatic twist to the event when he got the Governor of Akwa-Ibom State, Goodswill Akpabio, on stage to do the ‘Sekem’ dance.
