Man gives out 13-year-old daughter in marriage to man who raped her

A Kano based mechanic gave out his daughter for marriage to a rapist who gang raped her alongside his friends. A date has been fixed for the wedding.

A father in Tudun Rubudi of Ungogo local government, Kano State has given his 13-year-old daughter to one of the four men who allegedly gang-raped her.
Usaini Ja’afar alongside Sani Isa,  Jamilu Sani and Isa Musawere all arrested in December 2014  by Kano State Hisbah Board’s Dala Command after they were all found naked at an uncompleted building shortly after they had raped the 13-year-old girl.

Miss Cando, won the competition in October 2014 and won prizes, including a new Aveo car 2015 and a smart tablet. She also won a free course of cosmetic surgery treatment; a prize which turned out to be fatal to her life. Catherine Cando died on Saturday January 10, during the surgery operation.

Shina and Sammie have been married for over 30 years. They had their traditional marriage in 1982 and the church wedding in 1995.

Merkel joins Muslim rally for tolerance

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has joined a Muslim community rally to promote tolerance, condemn the attacks in Paris and rebuke a growing anti-Islam movement.
Speaking at the gathering in Berlin on Tuesday, she urged Germans not to marginalise Muslims or other minorities, saying: "Excluding population groups due to their faith or their origin is beneath the dignity osf our liberal state.
"Hatred of foreigners, racism and extremism have no place in this country."
President Joachim Gauck also addressed the vigil at the Brandenburg Gate, organised by the Central Council of Muslims in Germany under the banner "Let's be there for each other. Terror: not in our name!"

Paraguay's president has called on fellow members of the government to "stop robbing" from the South American country.
President Horacio Cartes made the statement on Tuesday during a passionate speech at the city of Villa Hayes, where subsidised housing is being built for elderly people about 50 kilometres northeast of Asuncion.
"Stop robbing. Don't rob anymore. It's the people's money,'' Cartes said.
