Boko Haram's Attempt To Capture Town Foiled By Military

 Boko Haram insurgents recently attempted to capture Uba town, just about 35 kilometers from the commercial town of Mubi but were stopped by the Nigerian Military.

Witnesses on ground revealed that the military engaged the insurgents and that they had attacked around 7:30am Saturday morning.

80yr old man arrested for allegedly raping 12yr old in Ekiti

Kwankwaso Appoints Christain Female Acting Chief Judge

Kano State Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has appointed a Christian woman, Justice Patricia Mahmoud, to the position of Acting Chief Judge of the state.

According to Sahara Reporters, she has replaced Justice Shehu Atiku, who retired from judicial service after attaining the mandatory 65 years of age.

Kano Religious Police Destroys Thousands Of Beer Bottles


The Kano State Hisbah Board in a statement released today says, it has destroyed 326,151 bottles of beer out of the 363, 853 it confiscated from members of the public in the past three years.

The religious police officers who hailed all those that made it possible, also called on the State Government to provide the board with necessary facilities particularly operational vehicles to enable it discharge its duties more effectively.

In a bid to locate the black boxes of a crashed Air Asia plane investigators lifted the tail portion of the jet out of the Java Sea, on January 10, 2015, Saturday, two weeks after it went down, killing 162 people on board.

The tail was lifted from the seabed in the water between Indonesian islands of Borneo and Java after investigators detected underwater ping-like sounds. Although it was unclear whether the sounds were coming from the recorders or not, the operation to hoist the tail from a depth of about 30 metres
