Quadri wins ITTF awards

Nigeria’s Quadri Aruna on Wednesday night won two awards at the International Table 
Tennis Federation’s 2014 Star Awards in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
The world 30th ranked player, edged out three other nominees, China’s duo of Fan Zhendong 
and Xi Xin and Portugal’s Marcos Freitas to win the Male Table Tennis Star of the Year.

of Sasay shared the baby bump pic on the left and congratulated her. Sasay replied on the post with a smile. It also looks like they may be engaged. The couple have been dating since Nov. 2013.

ASUU blasts LASU VC over withdrawal of PhD

The Kano zonal coordinator of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Dr Rabiu Nasiru has lashed out at the Vice Chancellor of the Lagos state University(LASU), Professor John Oladapo Obafunwa who he described as a pathological foe of all academics with a Ph.D, a degree which he does not possess.
The zonal coordinator who, in a press conference at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, over the weekend, wondered why a Vice Chancellor will threaten to withdraw the Ph.D of a colleague over
 an avoidable crisis which the Vice Chancellor is the architect of.

Fayose’s wife clocks 51, celebrates with less-privileged

Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Mrs Feyisetan Fayose, will be 51 tomorrow.
Mrs Fayose, who planned to celebrate her birthday with the less privilegded, urged those who
wanted to celebrate with her on the occasion of her 51st birthday, to donate their gift items to the
 less privileged.

Strike paralyses court activities in Lagos

Court activities were paralysed in Lagos on Monday as the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria
 (JUSUN) began its nationwide strike.
However, some staff members of the Federal High Court in Lagos had resumed work. Some said
 they were not aware of the strike.
A registrar told our correspondent that he was not aware if he was supposed to stay off work.
But the court eventually shut down when it became obvious that JUSUN meant business.
