Fayose’s wife clocks 51, celebrates with less-privileged

Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Mrs Feyisetan Fayose, will be 51 tomorrow.
Mrs Fayose, who planned to celebrate her birthday with the less privilegded, urged those who
wanted to celebrate with her on the occasion of her 51st birthday, to donate their gift items to the
 less privileged.

Strike paralyses court activities in Lagos

Court activities were paralysed in Lagos on Monday as the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria
 (JUSUN) began its nationwide strike.
However, some staff members of the Federal High Court in Lagos had resumed work. Some said
 they were not aware of the strike.
A registrar told our correspondent that he was not aware if he was supposed to stay off work.
But the court eventually shut down when it became obvious that JUSUN meant business.

Despite the annulment of June 12, 1993 presidential election, a former Military President, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, has admitted that the poll was the most credible in the history of Nigeria.
He also opened up on why a former Minister of FCT, Gen. Mamman Vatsa, was killed after his involvement in a 1995 coup d’etat.

MEND’s adoption of Buhari inconsequential – Ijaw youths


Ijaw youths on Wednesday dismissed the endorsement of the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, by the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND), describing it as inconsequential.
The youths under the aegis of Ijaw Youths Council (IYC), Worldwide, said Buhari’s adoption by a non-existent group was of no electoral value.

Jonathan cautions statesmen on ‘provocative statements’

President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday declared that elder statesmen making provocative statements that could set the country ablaze are motor park touts.
He, however, did not mention the names of the statesmen making such provocative statements in the country.
