APC welcomes Jonathan’s commitment to free, fair, violence-free polls

All Progressives Congress (APC) has welcomed the stated commitment of President Goodluck Jonathan, in his New Year message, to the conduct of free, fair and violence-free elections this year, urging him to match the commitment with action.

Taraba: Police parades 59-year-old man for defiling under-age girls


Taraba State Police Command yesterday in Jalingo paraded a 59-year-old man for raping two under-aged girls.
Parading the suspect (name withheld) with other criminals accused of housebreaking, theft and forgery before newsmen at the police headquarters, Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Ademola Omole, said offenders were apprehended with stolen items such as electronic devices by the men of the special anti robbery squad (SARS) on a routine patrol.

2015: Obiano canvasses vote for APGA, Jonathan



Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has assured Ndi Anambra that their hopes and dreams for a prosperous year will not fall with the falling price of oil in the international market.
Delivering his New Year Message to the people entitled “Stretching to a New Height of Excellence,” Governor Obiano observed that “the future of any society lies in its capacity to look beyond the darkness and doubts of today and see a glimmer of hope in the shadows of tomorrow.”

President Goodluck Jonathan has felicitated with all Nigerians of the Islamic faith as they commemorate the birth of Prophet Mohammed today.
The Special Adviser on Media and  Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, in a statement said President Jonathan  urged them to offer special Jumat prayers for successful and peaceful elections in Nigeria  next month.

Imo CP works for state PDP –Okorocha

Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has accused the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Abdulmajid Ali of working for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against other political parties, including the All Progressives Congress (APC). He said that such glaring partiality does not reflect the state police command as a federal agency, whose responsibility is to protect everybody.

Okorocha presents N141bn budget

Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, yesterday presented a proposed budget of N141, 291,133,849 for 2015 before the state House of Assembly.
According to the governor, the budget tagged, “Budget of Total Rescue and Sustainability”, would place emphasis on projects and programmes with high capacity for wealth creation, skill acquisition and self-employment and overall socio-economic development of the state.
