Yemi Alade VS Seyi Shay Who rules 2015?


2014 witnessed an unprecedented avalanche of hits in the Nigerian music industry and the female gender played a prominent role as a good number of sexy and talented acts made their marks. From Tiwa Savage to Omawumi, from Waje and Chidinma to Cynthia Morgan, Yemi Alade and Seyi Shay to mention a few, the average life span of a hit was three months. However, as a follow up to last week’s Showdown, this week’s edition features two hot female acts, Seyi Shay and Yemi Alade as Nigerian music pundits determine which of the pair will rule 2015.

Pakistan judge issues arrest warrant for Abdul Aziz

A judge in Pakistan has issued an arrest warrant for a cleric at a radical mosque in Islamabad who has refused to condemn the massacre of children at an army-run school.
Imam Abdul Aziz has been accused of threatening protesters outside the Red Mosque.
The cleric said the charge against him was insignificant.

Last week, Taliban fighters attacked the school in Peshawar, killing 152 people, including 133 children.
Mr Aziz said that the authorities should focus on arresting people accused of more serious crimes.
"My case is very small and even a sub-inspector can grant me bail," he said.

Fayose issues ultimatum to Ekiti landlords

Ekiti State governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose yesterday issued a two-month ulti­matum to landlords whose houses are without toilets in any part of the state to make amends or face the music.
Fayose declared this, while featuring on his monthly Radio and Television pro­gramme tagged, “Meet your governor” in Ado-Ekiti, that defaulting landlords now have up till the end of Febru­ary, 2015 to provide the facil­ity in their homes.

Labawo fire: Victims count losses



Owners of shops in Ibadan, Oyo State, razed in the Labowo Ogunpa Market inferno con­tinue to count their losses.
The fire outbreak, which was reportedly caused by an electrical fault, started at about 3am on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, burning down a section of the market and destroying over 60 mini shops at the material section.

2014 REVIEW: What we gained, what we lost


It has been an eventful year for Nigeria, one Nigerians will not forget in a hurry. Different events marked the year. These in­clude strikes, the appearance of Ebola through a Liberian, Pat­rick Sawyer; constant bombing by Boko Haram; the kidnap of over 200 schoolgirls in Chibok by the same sect and fall in oil price.
