Aliko Dangote Now Ranks 37th In The World

Less than 24 hours after Nigerian billionaire business mogul, Aliko Dangote, rose to the position on Forbes Magazine’s ranking of World Richest Person, the President of Dangote Group has dropped 14 places to become the 37th in the world.
Dangote was said to be worth on Thursday, 6 November, 2014, but in the latest ranking published on Friday, 7 November, 2014, the first black person to be so ranked has seen his wealth dropped to about $21 billion.
According to the ranking, Bill Gates still remains the richest person in the world with a net worth of $82 billion. He is closely followed by Carlos Slim Helu & family with a net worth of  $82 billion.
Still in third position is Warren Buffet with a net worth of $70 billion, while Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is ranked 14th with a net worth of $33 billion.

FG Offers Sierra Leone N42billion Worth Of Ebola Drugs

Nigerian government has offered drugs and supplies worth more than $249,000 (about N42billion) to Sierra Leone, the Ministry of Health said on Thursday.
According to the health ministry’s spokeswoman, Ayo Adesugba, this offering was made apart from a $3.5m donation promised by President Goodluck Jonathan toward the fight against Ebola scourge in the West Africa sub-region.
“Nigeria made the donation at the request of the government of Sierra Leone,” the statement said.
Adesugba also noted that Nigeria had already mobilised and trained over 600 health workers as volunteers to support the containment effort in affected countries within the region under the leadership of the Economic Community Of West African States.

Nigerian Jailed In Britain For Drug Smuggling

United Kingdom has imprisoned a Nigerian-German man after being caught trying to traffic more than N53 m worth of cocaine in 83 packages in his body.

The man reportedly swallowed these capsules of cocaine.
Police at Dover’s Eastern Docks Charles stopped Ukachukwu Imoh after telling officers he was visiting family in London having boarded a coach from Frankfurt.
The 57-year old man with a Nigerian passport was X-rayed at hospital where 83 packages were found in his body.

Fashola Slams INEC Over PVC Distribution

Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, has once again condemned the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on its distribution of the Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC), which began across the country today, Friday, 7 November, 2014.
Fashola, in a state-wide broadcast in Lagos, western Nigeria, Friday morning, slammed the electoral body over the exclusion of nine local governments in the state.
According to the governor, the affected nine local government areas are Alimosho, Amuwo Odofin, Epe, Apapa, Badagry, Oshodi-Isolo, Surulere, Eti-Osa and Shomolu.
Fashola stated that INEC had announced that PVC distribution will only take place in Agege, Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ikeja, Mushin, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, Ikorodu, Ibeju-Lekki, Kosofe and Ojo.

The governor said by omission or commission, INEC had decided to make the exercise a painful experience for Lagos residents by announcing that it would only issue Permanent Voters Cards in 11 local governments.

Bomb blast in Bauchi this morning, many feared dead

A bomb explosion occurred this morning November 7th at a First Bank building located in Azare, Bauchi state. Eye witnesses say the targets were people collecting their salaries. Many people are feared dead.
