Paterson Zochonis Cussons, popularly known as PZ Cus­sons, has declared a total dividend of N2.4 billion and 61 kobo per share from a profit after tax of N5,082,747.

Access Bank, MoneyGram launch outbound money transfer service

…As CBN raises transfer limit to $5,000
Access Bank, in part­nership with Money­Gram, has launched outbound money transfer service in Nigeria.
This partnership has trig­gered a new turn in Nigeria’s money transfer market and makes Access Bank one of the MoneyGram partners to offer such service.
Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has increased the maximum value for the recently intro­duced outbound international money transfer services from $2,000 per transaction to $5,000 per transaction.

NOC picks Asaba for AGM, election

The Executive Board of the Nigeria Olympic Commit­tee, NOC, yes­terday approved Asaba, capital of Delta State as the venue for its Annual General Meeting and elections, as well as a Merit Award Night. The election will hold on No­vember 20, 2014.
Asaba was voted for after President Sani M Ndanusa announced that the State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan had accepted to host the AGM.

Fans divided over Keshi

Following the Super Eagles win over Sudan last night, thousands of fans, who stormed the Abuja National Stadium were divided over the future of Stephen Keshi as the team’s coach. While some fans carried placard demanding for his sack, others demonstrated in favour of his continued stay.
Before the game got under way, the fans who turned out in large numbers expressed their disappoint­ment by booing the players and pelting them with sa­chet water when they ini­tially failed to impress.
Displaying placards with descriptions like ‘Keshi must go’ Mikel is a super flop to Nigerians’, ‘Keshi must bring back Ike Uche and Super’ ‘Eagles must qualify’, the fans registered their anger each time Keshi stood to give instructions to the players.

The Super Eagles yesterday won their first match since defeating Bosnia Herzegovina 1-0 at the World Cup after struggling to beat a de­termined Sudanese side 3-1 in the Match Day 4 of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ebola and the new school year

Primary and secondary school chil­dren in the country are now back in their schools following the ex­tension of their end-of-session holiday by some weeks on account of the Ebora Virus Disease (EVD) that was brought into the country from Liberia on July 20. A new school year should have taken off on September 22, but the Eb­ola problem and the need to put strate­gies in place to keep it out of the nation’s schools, forced the authorities to order an extension of the children’s holiday, which has now elapsed.
