after an investigation found he took the credit for the bravery of others
A British Army major who was awarded one of the country’s highest honours for
gallantry has been stripped of his medal after being found guilty of
exaggerating his own bravery.
Major Robert Michael Armstrong had been awarded the Military Cross for
personal courage in the face of enemy fire and his calm leadership of the
Afghan troops under his command, following an incident in Helmand in 2009.
