Adrian Peterson to plead not guilty on Wednesday


Hardin On Wednesday, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will appear in court in connection with his pending child-abuse charges.
And if/when the judge asks lawyer Rusty Hardin (pictured) for a plea, there will be no equivocation.
“If the court asks for a plea tomorrow [and we do expect that to happen], it will very definitely be NOT guilty,” Hardin’s spokesperson, Mary Flood, told ESPN.com.  “We hope that a trial date is also discussed but don’t yet know how the court’s docket is looking. . . .  I hope we learn more tomorrow, but it’s possible that we won’t get a date tomorrow and we’ll just get the beginnings of discussions about a date.”

Freight Train Carrying Petroleum Distillate Derails in Canada

CALGARY, Alberta — A freight train derailed in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan on Tuesday, setting two cars carrying petroleum distillate on fire, the Canadian National Railway Co. said. The railway said the train, traveling from Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, had three locomotives and was pulling 100 cars when 26 cars derailed near the community of Clair.
"Of the 26 derailed cars, two cars carrying petroleum distillate have spilled and that's the product that caught fire. There were four other dangerous goods cars; two of hydrochloric acid, two of caustic soda. They are reported to be intact," CN spokesman Jim Feeny said, adding no injuries were immediately reported.

Former Anambra Governor Peter Obi defects from APGA to PDP

Former Governor of Anambra state and chieftain of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) this evening defected to the ruling People's Democratic Party, PDP. He made his decision known after a meeting with members of the South East zone of the PDP at his residence in Onitsha, Anambra state.

Speaking through his media aide this evening, Mr Obi who said his defection was to enable him become a competitor and not a spectator in national affairs. The former governor had maintained for a while now that he will not seek any further elective position.

The Director General of the Nigerian Institute of Leather Science & Technology (NILEST), Zaria, Dr Isuwa Adamu, has said that consumption of animal hides and skin, popularly known as Ponmo is dangerous to human health. Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, today in Abuja, Adamu said scientific research has shown that ponmo doesn't have any nutritional value to human health and that some of the animals where ponmo is gotten from are usually sick & harbor dangerous chemicals.
