Four men who beat Afghan woman to death sentenced to death


Remember the Afghan woman, Farkhunda, who was beaten to death by a brutal mob after being falsely accused of burning a Koran? An Afghan court this morning Wednesday May 6th convicted and sentenced four men to death for their role in her death.

Soyinka denies blasting the Igbos, says whoever believes he did is a moron

Professor Wole Soyinka has released a statement denying reports that he trashed the Igbos during his lecture at Harvard University last week. Soyinka was quoted to have said 'the Igbos voted based on their stomach and suffer from incurable money mindedness'. The Nobel Laureate says he never made a statement like that and anyone who believes he did is a moron. Lol.

19 year old internet scammer arraigned by EFCC

A 19-year-old suspected internet fraudster Ojosipe Adebayo, has been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, before Justice A.O Ipaye of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja on a two- count -charge bordering on possession of a document containing false pretences and forgery.

Baby badly burnt after Boko Haram attack

Nigerian woman amongst rescued immigrants gives birth on one of the boats


Over the weekend and on Monday, about 7,000 illegal immigrants were rescued from overcrowded boats crossing the Mediterranean into Italy. One of the migrants was a pregnant Nigerian woman. The woman went into labour while being rescued from a boat and gave birth to a baby girl. The baby has been named Francesca Marina as a tribute to the Italian Navy (Marina Militare).
