Two-Year-Old Boy Playing With Infected Bats Spread Ebola



AIT reports that the scientist said the two year old boy described as patient zero became infected and was the first to die in his village in Meliandou, Guinea in December 2013.
‘Patient zero’ was Emile Ouamouno, and he was described as a playful toddler by his father Etienne.
Before his death, on December 6, 2013, Emile had been near a tree housing the free tailed bats.

NFF Sends second batch of elite referees to London

A second batch of elite referees, this time 20 in number, will depart Nigeria for a two –week capacity building exercise in the United Kingdom on January 25, 2015.
The delegation would be led by Chairman of the NFF Referees Committee, Alhaji Yusuf Ahmed Fresh, and would also include the Chairman of the Nigeria Referees Association, Alhaji Ahmed Maude.

The UN General Assembly has approved a resolution urging Myanmar to provide "full citizenship'' to its Rohingya Muslim minority and to allow them to move freely throughout the country.
The resolution adopted by consensus on Monday, stressed the assembly's "serious concern'' about the government's treatment of the Rohingyas, sending a strong message from the 193-member world body that the international community is united in wanting change in Myanmar's treatment of its minorities.

It also called on the government to take measures to ensure that the Rohingyas can safely return to their communities, to conduct independent investigations into rights abuses, "and to promote peaceful coexistence".

Russia's top opposition leader Alexei Navalny has called for mass protests to "destroy" President Vladimir Putin's regime after a court handed him a suspended sentence and jailed his brother in a controversial fraud case.
At a hearing that was abruptly brought forward by two weeks, a Moscow judge on Tuesday found both Navalny and his brother Oleg guilty of embezzlement and sentenced them to three and a half years in what is widely seen as a politically motivated case.
