Nigeria officials have maintained Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi, who recently suffered a knee injury, will have to be cleared by the team’s medical staff before he is fielded in the country’s must-win AFCON 2015 qualifiers against Congo and South Africa.

Son of Former Kwara Governor to Contest in 2015 Elections

Alhaji Hakeem Lawal, son of former Kwara Governor, late Admiral Mohammed Lawal, has promised to make life more abundant for the people of the state if elected as governor in 2015.
Lawal, who is contesting the governorship ticket under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made the promise on Monday during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin.

PDP Member Shot Dead in Lagos – APC Chieftain Suspected

There was remarkable tension in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State today after reports of the killing of a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) went public.
According to the Nigerian Tribune newspaper, the man, named Sikiru Ogboye, had been in charge of monitoring the distribution of the permanent voters card (PVC) in Ibeju when he was shot dead.
The state command has arrested suspects in connection with the death.
