Ekiti State account almost empty -Fayose

Governor-elect of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has cried out that the state government’s account is near empty, just as he complained that the outgoing govern­ment has refused to cooper­ate with his team to ensure a proper handover. Fayose told newsmen yesterday that he would likely inherit the treasury in a very poor state when he assumes office to­day.

Obi’s defection to PDP is non-issue –Obiano

Governor Wil­lie Obiano of Anambra State has described the defection of his pre­decessor, Peter Obi to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a non-issue.
He said the former governor came to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) alone and had left alone.

2015: I did not submit name of any candidate – Uduaghan

The governor of Del­ta State, Dr. Em­manuel Uduaghan has said contrary to reports in some national dailies, he did not submit anybody’s name to Presi­dent Goodluck Jonathan for the governorship elec­tion in the state.
In a statement signed by a Senior Special Assistant to the governor, Sunny Areh, he said the governor did not submit any name through the Anioma Congress to the President to be appointed as governor.
The statement read in part: “The governor has di­rect access to the president and do not need any inter­mediary to go to him.

We’re ready to return missionary schools but … –Gov Ahmed

Kwara State Gov­ernor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, yesterday said government is ready to return missionary schools to the owners as be­ing demanded by Christian denominations.
Ahmed disclosed this against the backdrop of protest by some Christians who dem­onstrated in Ilorin demanding that government should return schools to them.
