Boko Haram Militant Bella Naija

Boko Haram has reportedly abducted 50 women in Gulak town in Adamawa state.
The women, along with other residents, were at a preaching venue
when the incident occurred, according to Daily Post.
Reports state that the insurgents were attempting to recruit new
members at the venue, and they conscripted able-bodied men.
“They conducted preaching sessions to attract converts to their
sect but people only listened out of fear. The next day they a
sked if anybody wanted to join them but there was no response,
so they selected many healthy looking young men and ordered them to follow them,
” said a resident of the town.
Sources say several residents were able to escape from the terrorists,
but unfortunately; the women were unable to escape.

Generator fumes kill man, wife & 3 children in Ikorodu

Generator fumes has killed a man, his wife and all his 3 children in
Ipoyewa community of Ikorodu, Lagos. The bodies of the family was
discovered by neighbours last Friday September 12th in their home.
All five suffocated to death after inhaling fumes from a generator which
they'd kept in their room. According to neighbours, the man bought the
generator just two days before the unfortunate incident and was afraid
it will be stolen if left outside so he kept it inside his 2-room apartment.

When the family failed to come out late Friday morning, a neighbor
peeped through their window, saw bodies, and alerted others. They
broke down the door to discover the horror. And when I say horror,
I mean horror. The photos are really graphic so please be warned.

Residents of the community are blaming the family's deaths on lack
of power in the area. They claim the last time they had light was 3 years
ago, that every house in the area uses a generator. They said they have
called on the government many times to help them with light but their
efforts have yielded no fruit. See the pics after the cut.. *warning - graphic content*

People need to be educated about the dangers of generator fumes...

3 scorned girlfriends turn up at airport to confront boyfriend after discovering he cheated on them all

20 year old Charlie Fisher (pictured right) who had been cheating with
three young women, 17 year old Becky Connery (pictured left), 19 year
old Lizzie Leeland-Cunningham (center), and another 20 year old girl
who didn't want to be named, was embarrassed at the airport by all
three women when he flew home from holiday. According to Becky,
when all three of them found out he'd been dating them for more than
six months and was cheating on them with the other, they teamed up
and decided to teach him a lesson.

The girls stormed the airport as Charlie was returning from a holiday
and started shouting 'Liar Liar' at him.

Becky told how she found out that the man she was in love with was
cheating on her - and how she and his other girlfriends decided to
 have the last laugh.

She told UK Daily Mail:
'I'd known Charlie for three years but started seeing him
in March, and early on we had the conversation that we
weren't seeing anyone else, that we were exclusive. I was in
love with him, and he said he was in love with me, but I had my suspicions from the start.
He was very protective of his phone, he wouldn't let me put pictures of me and him on social networks, he deleted comments I made about us - looking back, he was very shady.'
Becky said she was at Charlie's house the night before he traveled on holiday and saw a message from a girl on his phone saying 'I will meet you later'.

She said it instantly made her suspicious as he'd asked her to go home early that night as he had to finish his packing.
'Charlie caught me and we had a row - I asked who this girl was and he said she was just a friend.'
After Charlie traveled, Becky found the girl who sent the text on twitter
'I told her we were both seeing the same person and she wasn't surprised - she had been with him since January, and had always had her suspicions'

The two girls then met and discovered there was a third girl, Lizzie Leeland-Cunningham, 19 and made contact with her through Facebook.

Lizzie had been dating Mr Fisher since meeting him on Facebook in April. She said;
'He was a real charmer and had a real way with words - he knew how to say the right thing at the right time. But what I didn't realise was that when he was going off to see his friend 'Chris', he was actually seeing one of the other girls.  He did it to them, too, saying he was going to see 'Harry' when he was seeing me.
'I suggested as a joke that we should all go to the airport to meet him.  The other two said "Yes, good idea" straightaway, so we met on Saturday morning and went to the airport together.'
As Mr Fisher came out through customs, all three girls called his name. Becky said:
'He froze and looked at us.  He said: "Why are you here?  Why would you do this? We were like "Are you joking?"
"I said to him: "I can't believe how you could be like this for seven months."'
Lizzie said: 'He came out of customs and saw all of us and his face just dropped. We said we wanted to talk to him, and he said "Can't I talk to you later?" and we said no, we wanted to talk to him now.

I said to him "Don't you have anything to say to us?"'.

Charlie headed towards the car park with his grandmother, who had come to collect him, but the girls continued to berate him, stopping only to explain what their grievance was to his grandmother.
'She just shrugged and said "OK" when we told her why we were angry', Becky said.
Becky put a picture of the girls at the airport on Twitter, with the caption: 'Just been at the airport to meet my cheating boyfriend...' and was celebrated as a hero by Twitter users, who said: 'This is awesome - you go, girl.'

Now the girls, who say they're happy to have ousted him from their lives, have forged firm friendships with each other.
'They're great - I'm seeing both of them for nights out soon,' said Becky.  'We can't think what we saw in Charlie in the first place.
'I'm so glad we confronted him - it's not the 16th century any more - girls don't have to put up with this.'

Fathers’ Smoking Before Conception Increases Asthma Risk in Babies – Study

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Munich (dpa/NAN) – A recent research by the University of Bergen in Norway has found that men who smoke increase the risk of their children been asthmatic even if they give up long before conception.
The study found that the earlier a man takes up smoking, the higher the risk that his offspring would suffer from non-allergic asthma.
Cecilie Svanes, Leader of the study group, said during the presentation of the research at the European Respiratory Society (ERS) International Congress in Munich, that the smoking habits of more than 13,000 men and women were examined during the study.
She suggested that sperm are particularly susceptible to the influence of harmful substances in a certain stage of development.
Svanes said even at that, those who start smoking later could be causing harm to their future children, especially if they smoke over a long period.
“If a man smokes for more than 10 years before conception, the risk of his children having asthma increases by 50 per cent,’’ she said.
“Given these results, we can presume that exposure to any type of air pollution, from occupational exposures to chemical exposures, could also have an effect,” she added.
Svanes said the study found no link between the mothers’ smoking prior to conception and a child’s asthma.
She said the findings however indicated that only tobacco consumption during pregnancy could affect the unborn child.

Ebola: Ghana Sends Humanitarian Assistance to 3 Countries

China-made Detection Reagent Of Ebola Virus Is Going To Be Exported To Africa
Abuja (NAN) – Ghana on Monday began sending 100 tonnes of humanitarian food relief items to three Ebola-affected countries in West Africa to help feed those under treatment and quarantined in isolation centres.
A statement issued by Haruna Warkani, ECOWAS Commission’s spokesperson in Abuja on Tuesday said the Ghana Air Force had begun the transportation of items to Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone.
It stated that the items were donations from President John Mahama on behalf of the government and people of Ghana during his three-nation visit on Monday to the three countries.
Mahama, the Chairman of ECOWAS, made a symbolic presentation of some  items to the presidents of the countries, saying the gesture was a symbol of solidarity with affected countries, the statement said.
The items were 3,000 bags of rice, 300 cartons of cooking oil, 300 cartons of milk and 300 cartons of cocoa drinking products, all produced in Ghana, the statement said.
Mahama said Africans did not have to always wait for the developed world to come to their aid in times of crisis, such as the spread of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), the statement stated.
“We must show love to each other in our own small way,” Mahama said.
The  visit enabled the Ghanaian leader to hold discussions with his colleagues on available sub-regional and international interventions to support the countries in their efforts to contain and manage Ebola, the statement explained.
It added that Mahama also advocated against any international isolation of the affected countries, as such attitude would make relief and humanitarian assistance to infected persons difficult.
He also decided to work with the UN to set up an international logistics centre in Ghana to serve as the main hub for the fight against Ebola in West Africa.
Nigeria, another country that has been affected by EVD, has recorded eight deaths and has largely brought the disease under control.

Boko Haram reportedly abduct men and women in Adamawa state

Daily Trust is reporting that about 50 men and women were abducted after an attack on Gulak community in Adamawa state on Saturday September 13th.

The residents of the community reportedly confirmed that the attack took place and people, including married women were loaded into trucks and taken away.

Musa Uba, a resident of Husra village in Michika LGA which is one of the villages that came under heavy attack said able-bodied young men were forcefully converted into the sect after recruitment efforts through preaching failed to attract volunteers.
“They conducted preaching sessions to attract converts to their sect but people only listened out of fear. The next day they asked if anybody wanted to join them but there was no response, so they selected many healthy looking young men and ordered them to follow them. One of the victims is my relative who did body building exercises regularly,” he said.
